What is the difference between a platinum, gold, silver, or bronze rating for a lodging property?

When booking online, look for the stars to tell you a property rating. When booking over the phone, be sure and ask your reservation agent what the LQA rating is for the property.

Quality
Platinum Five Stars A platinum property represents the finest accommodations. Furnishings and appointments and all other aspects of the unit are superior in style, design and quality.
Gold Four Stars A gold property is both inviting and stylish. The rating refelcts contemporary design motifs and quality appointments. Inventory contained within each room is upscale and in excellent condition.
Silver Three Stars Silver properties offer comfortable accommodations with furniture that is gently used. A consistent design is apparent throughout, although units may be a bit older and lacking in finishing touches.
Bronze Five Stars A bronze property doesn't offer any frills, but an acceptable lodging experience. Furnishing in room are mostly utilitarian, meeting basic expectations.
